Well I finally have gotten around to attending Focus On imaging today something I’ve been meaning to do for a while now.
It’s a couple hour drive from my home to Birmingham which is a bit tedious in itself but I had good company.
For those readers who do not know what focus is its a trade show event for photographers held each year in Birmingham in the uk.
It’s held at the national indoor arena and all major brands are there including the likes of canon and Nikon as well as lens producers from the likes of sigma tamer on and others.
Above you see the sigma 400-1000 F5.6 tank of a lens which could spot a fly’s ass from space! Or at least that’s how it felt looking through it.
Amongst all the distributors, resellers and print companies there was also displays and talks by well known photographers such as Frank Doorhof a personal Favorite of mine.
Frank was there as part of the flash center demoing some products but mainly giving advice of creative shooting which was great to watch.
As someone I class in my top ten photographers it was great to catch up with him in person rather than electronic communication.
Well in the morning I said if you see me walking around then come up and say hi and someone actually did! So I just wanted to say thanks to you (you know who you are).
I spent the rest of the day walking around checking out the stands and trying not to spend my money! For the most part I had success with this only really parting money with a second hand camera bag and a super clamp so all in all I had a good day.
Idea for next year is to save a bunch of cash and just blow it all there as many a deal can be had
Thanks for reading as always please use the share buttons below to spread me about
